The Mission

The Mo's Place team exists to foster dialogue between peoples and perspectives, particularly with regards to the Palestine and Israel situation. We would love to serve you in Palestine to facilitate this dialogue, or to facilitate your own mission. That said, we also have plans to expand the reach of our mission. We hope to expand the reach of the Mo's Place mission into the digital realm. We are in the midst of creating a prototype of an app that will bring awareness to the Palestinian people through our mission of intercultural dialogue. Our initial idea is to foster dialogue that will be carried out in the conventional sense through social media-type blogging on a Palestine-specific app designed by the Mo's Place team and Palestinian affiliates. We would facilitate access to news from Palestine by including in a single news feed the feeds from the various Palestinian media and think tank sources. We would also provide an internal service within the app where users can create (anonymous or named) profiles to share their own stories and perspectives firsthand, facilitating honest dialogue.

We also envision bringing awareness to the Palestinian cause by creating opportunities for youth Palestinian coders, developers, and entrepreneurs. Palestine now has a small but valuable base of young, university-age coders who are both politically and socially aware, and we wish to bring them to the spotlight as well as give a voice to the Palestinian people through its youth coding community. We will be working on a prototype of our app in Mo's Place this summer 2015 that we envision will serve as a Quirky for apps to be created by Palestinian developers. This may also possibily be in partnership with Israeli youth, should we expand so far.
