Hebron is the pinnacle of the political, cultural, and economic situation of the West Bank. It is the largest city with over 150,000 people in it and the surrounding villages and Israeli settlements. Hebron is the only city that has an Israeli settlement inside of the Palestinian city. The settlement divides the city into two parts and gives a sincere picture of life in Palestine.
Hebron city is located in the south of the West Bank, close to the major cities of Jerusalem, Bethlehem, various villages, settlements, and camps. Jerusalem/Bethlehem are 40 minutes north, Ramallah is 1.5 hours north, and Nablus at the north tip of the West Bank is 4 hours. The Dead Sea is only an hour away, and Tel Aviv is less than two hours away. Hebron is where the tomb of Biblical Ibrahim and Sarah lies, which is now home to a synagogue and mosque that share the same building.
